1. Create a Google AI Studio key

Open aistudio.google.com/apikey, choose your Google account, and create an API key.

2. Enable billing for Gemini 2.5 Pro

Free-tier keys can use Flash. Pro usually requires billing/prepay; manage that at aistudio.google.com/billing.

3. Paste it here

Fermata stores your key encrypted at rest and uses it only for your lesson-processing calls.

Pro mode ADVANCED

Unlocks the Technical Viewer, a per-lesson debugging surface for power users: comment-by-comment evidence inspection, server-rendered mel spectrograms, the HMM-aligned note table, the raw evidence packet and LLM response sent to Gemini, plus the watch-clips Gemini was given. Useful when you want to verify whether a comment like “the C is sharp” is real or a hallucination.
